8-Hour Pre-Assignment Course for Security Guards
Course Details
Required by NYS as the first step to obtain a security guard registration card. This introductory course can be taken at any NYS licensed security training school and acts as the very first step toward obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York Department of State.
The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard in New York. Topics covered in this 8 hour security class include:
- The role of the security guard
- Legal powers and limitations
- Emergency situations
- Communications and public relations
- Access control
- Ethics and conduct
A passing score on the examination is required for the successful completion of this course. All material discussed in the course will be reviewed again in a period of time beforehand, including an overview of the duties of a New York security guard.
